Edilson Peregrino

Edilson Peregrino, whose artistic name is "Peregrino", was born on September 17, 2002, in the province of Kwanza Sul, in the municipality of Porto Amboim, Angola. His childhood and adolescence were spent in Luanda, where he currently lives.

In 2015, Peregrino returned to his homeland to finish high school, specializing in elementary school pedagogy. It was during this period that his passion for art began to manifest itself in a more significant way. After finishing high school in 2020, he returned to Luanda and began to dedicate himself to art in a professional way, being essentially self-taught.

Peregrino began his artistic journey with realistic graphite pencil drawings, a technique he perfected until 2022. In December of the same year, he expanded his range to include acrylic paintings on canvas, a medium he continues to explore to this day. Inspired by historical masters of art such as Caravaggio and Picasso, as well as contemporary artists, Peregrino finds his greatest source of inspiration in life itself. He firmly believes that the human being, a divine creation, is one of the most intriguing and inspiring phenomena.

In addition to his self-taught development, Peregrino is also recognized for his talent and dedication, having been awarded the "I AM A BEAST" prize in the art category of the 2021 TIGRA NOVA GARRA competition. He has also taken part in two exhibitions at the National Assembly of Angola, which marked his presence on the national art scene.

Peregrino continues to evolve and expand his artistic universe by constantly seeking new forms of expression and inspiration in the vastness of human life.
